Lucid – a new social enterprise of Anex – aims to provide solutions to alcohol and other drug problems, and raise awareness about the less visible aspects of addiction in the community.

Substance misuse is a silent epidemic happening behind closed doors in households acrossAustraliaevery day, affecting people from all walks of life indiscriminately. A small but significant section of the population has an unhealthy relationship with alcohol – and increasingly with pharmaceutical and illicit drugs. Addiction affects not only an individual’s physical and mental health, but also their family, workplace and the broader community.

Too few remedial programs are designed to target these less visible consequences of addiction, which is where Lucid is making a difference. Through a range of community and workplace awareness and prevention programs, Lucid aims to bring the issue into the open, which we believe is by far the most effective way of helping sufferers and the wider community tackle this problem head on.
